Virtual Mack Event Offers Customers More Information About New Medium-Duty MD Series Trucks

Mack recently provided more concrete details about its new medium-duty MD Series at a virtual event filmed at its headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. Attended by more than 300 people, including customers and dealers, the event served as an opportunity to talk about the MD Series’ enhanced maneuverability and short, 103-inch bumper-to-back-of-cab (BBC) length.

There was also a Q&A session where customers working in beverage distribution, construction, and other industries could ask Mack executives about specific MD Series features, such as the air-ride driver’s seat and ergonomic dashboard. This educational event came on the heels of the MD Series officially entering full production at Mack’s Roanoke Valley, Virginia, manufacturing facility on September 1.

“With the addition of the Mack MD Series, Mack now offers a complete lineup of Class 6 to 8 vehicles, enabling us to deliver the right truck for our customers’ needs, whatever that may be” says Jonathan Randall, senior vice president of North American sales for Mack. “Customer response has been outstanding, and we look forward to delivering on our Mack commitment to offering the best solution for each customer.”

More Mack MD Series Details

The Mack MD Series of 4×2 trucks includes the Class 6 MD6 and the Class 7 MD7, which have gross vehicle weight ratings of 25,995 and 33,000 pounds (11,800 and 14,970 kilograms), respectively, and are exempt from the 12% Federal Excise Tax. When transporting non-hazardous loads, the MD6 only requires a standard driver’s license rather than a CDL.

Although they share the same hood and grille design as the heavy-duty Mack Anthem, the MD6 and MD7 are medium-duty vehicles that can operate as dry van, dump, flatbed, refrigerated, stake, or tank trucks. Mack recently announced that customers, body builders, and dealers will have access to the Mack Body Builder Support Team as well as a Body Builder Portal with diagrams, manuals, and other valuable information.
